Our new academic year for grades 5 to 8 officially took form on May 29th, 2023. Aptly titled Esperanza En Dios - Hope in God was a curtain raiser towards learning and trusting one’s abilities. The goal set for this year is to fine tune the minds of our young learners helping them explore the wealth of knowledge, stirring their curiosity and reigniting their minds.An energizing prayerful welcome awaited our students and new faculty members. Powerful words of wisdom from our Principal, Rev.Fr. Thomas Kannanaickal CMI and Manager Rev. Fr. Sebi Palamattath CMI fuelled our motivation to keep sight of our goals. Esperanza En Dios was a perfect launchpad that ensured a wonderful start to the new academic year, 2023

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023-24

International yoga day was conducted by the sports department on 21st June. A hundred students from grades 5 to 8 participated and performed asanas ranging from a basic level to more advanced poses. After the formal welcoming of dignitaries, Mr. Ashok led them in the recitation of the pledge, and students performed the asanas under the guidance of yoga instructor, Ms. Neelama. This program indeed helped raise awareness of yoga as a tool to improve physical and mental health.

TEACHER ’S ORIENTATION REPORT MAY 2023

“A journey well begun is already half done!!! But there are still miles to go before we sleep.”At the onset of the new academic year, Orientation sessions for the teachers of Christ Academy were organized for two weeks from May 15th to May 26th 2023.

There were valuable input sessions from external resource persons – Rev. Fr. Dr. Joby Thomas Thurackal CMI who specializes in clinical psychology of religion, and works in the area of practice in positive psychology through its integrative approach using psycho spiritual practices. It was an enriching experience to hear father talk about goal setting in the youth

In one of the sessions the speaker was an eminent Neuro-linguistic programme practitioner Mr. Ramani Venkat, who had a wide experience in implementing NLP practices to achieve goals and has conducted several workshops for people from all fields. He has done exemplary work in gamification as a tool to better learning. His talk on Neuro-linguistic programming: A way to change a person's thoughts and -Art of Counselling and language to influence students was truly inspirational.

Dr. Keerthy V S of Christ Academy Institute of Law helped teachers recollect and navigate the Legal Aspects in education and brought about awareness on legal matters pertaining to academicians. A wellness session was organized for all teachers from a distinguished resource of SVYASA University, Dr.Nibeditha who is the medical officer at SVYASA. Her area of interest in the use of Yoga in treating lifestyle diseases.

Various input sessions by Coordinators, academicians and educators were conducted to enhance teaching skills with respect to the current pedagogies and ways to implement them in their classrooms effectively.The week-long session was an enriching experience and it ended in a day of unwinding with team building activities at an offsite location Christ Academy also initiated a two-day Teacher Orientation Programme at Christ CMI School, Bangalore on 23rd May and 25th May followed by a one-day Teacher Orientation Programme for teachers visiting from Christ Public School, Bangalore. These programmes were the perfect platform to interact and exchange ideas between institutions.Fortified with the required necessities our teachers are all set for the new academic year!

LAURELS 2023

Our greatest achievements aren’t the end of the journey, it’s the starting point for the one leap forward….”On 1st of July 2023, to mark the excellent achievements of the students in the public exams of ICSE, CBSE, PUC and ISC, the annual prize day ceremony Laurels 2023 was celebrated

The chief guest of the day was Rev. Fr. Sony J Chundattu CMI, Director, Engineering and Technology, Christ University, Bangalore. The day was also graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Thomas, Principal, Christ Academy and Rev. Fr. Sebi, Manager Christ Academy along with the coordinators of CBSE and ICSE school, Dr Nilanjana Basu , Dr Sebastian PG r and our Associate Coordinator Mr Martin.

Students were honoured for their outstanding and excellent performances in the board exams by the Rev. Fathers. For ICSE school alone, 157 awards were given of which 7 were for the toppers in the board exam, 64 were award of excellence, 11 were for subject toppers and 75 were for securing centums in different subjects.

Grade 10 teachers were also felicitated on this day for their hard work and dedication by Rev. Fr. Levin, Principal, Christ Academy Junior College.

ORIENTATION REPORT OF KINDERGARTEN

Under the able guidance of Rev. Fr. Thomas, principal Christ Academy an Orientation Program was organized for the parents of Blossoms, Buds and Blooms on 5th June, 12th June & 19th June respectively at Christ Academy Kindergarten Section. The Guest of honour for Blooms Orientation Session was Rev. Fr. Seby , Manager Christ Academy.

The aim was to familiarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum along with the guidelines of the school. The program commenced with a warm welcome of the Guests & parents followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the beautiful prayer service. The School Manager Rev. Fr. seby and the Principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas addressed the gathering. In their speech, they laid stress on effective communication between the teachers & the parents. They also suggested different measures of parenting to nurture a child with love and care and role of parents to build a strong foundation for a glorious future.

Kindergarten Coordinator welcomed the parents and enabled the parents to understand the important guidelines for the smooth transition of the child to the new class.

Parents and their wards visited the decorated classrooms where they were warmly welcomed by their respective teachers. It was a fruitful meeting and the students of kindergarten were in high spirits after attending the orientation program.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2023

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way”-with this famous quote of John C. Maxwell, Dr. Sebastian P G, coordinator, Christ Academy ICSE, started the day with his welcome note in the investiture ceremony, 2023. The Investiture ceremony is the official induction programme of the leaders into the school cabinet.

Students of CBSE and ICSE divisions of Christ Academy elected their respective prefectorial bodies which comprise the head-boy, the head-girl, the ministers of different capacity, of discipline, culture, environment, media, sports, the captains and vice captains of the six different houses.

The chief guest of the day was Sri Umamahesh S.P., inspector of police, Bannerghatta police jurisdiction, who did the honour of pinning the badges to the leaders and handed over the school and house flags to the prefects and the house captains respectively. The day was also graced by the presence of Rev Father Thomas, Principal, Christ Academy and Rev Father, Sebi, Manager, Christ Academy Group of Institutes. The esteemed fathers blessed the prefects and presented the badges. Saplings were presented to the prefects by our Academic Coordinators.

The prefectorial body took the oath of office administered by Principal Rev Father Thomas. Grade 10 class representatives were also honoured with badges by their respective class teachers.The programme ended with the vote of thanks rendered by Dr Nilanjana Basu, who emphasised on the duties and responsibilities of leaders in the school cabinet

ENVIRONMENT DAY 2023 ‘NO PLASTIC BE FANTASTIC’

Christ Academy celebrated World Environment Day on 5th of June to spread awareness about the conservation of our environment and the prospective methods of corrective actions towards environment conservation. In resonance with the World Environment Day 2023 theme ‘SOLUTIONS TO PLASTIC POLLUTION’, a reminder that people's actions on plastic pollution matter, Christ Academy too emphasized on “No Plastic, Be Fantastic”.

Inauguration of the session was by Dr. K.N.Chandrashekara Senior Scientist & Head Research and Development Shriram Institute for Industrial Research. The chief guest and Principal Rev. Fr. Thomas emphasized on being the changemakers by changing small habits.

“Plastic pollution free world is not a choice but a commitment to life – a commitment to the next generation.” To bring this awareness in our students, various events comprising of making utility paper products, cloth bag from used garments, vegetable printing, best out of waste were organised in the school campus.

The primary students mesmerized the audience with a spectacular sunflower display. Competitions and activities related to environment day were conducted grade wise to make students aware of their responsibility towards a green encironment.

Higher grades students were involved in environment quiz and a debate session on ‘Shifting to plastic free world will be an easy transition’.

The highlight of the day was a display exhibition on environment friendly scientific models by students of grade 6 to 8.

The students of Christ Academy concluded the event with the pledge “Dealing with plastic pollution is vital for preserving our planet's health and ensuring a sustainable future for future generations…”

BLOSSOMS ENVIRONMENT DAY

The campus of Christ Academy buzzed with excitement on June 21st 2023 when our children of Blossoms came dressed in nature’s colour …WOW!! It was indeed green and green everywhere.

Invoking God’s blessing and thanking him for the beautiful environment was the beginning of our day when teachers led the prayer and children whole heartedly joined them with grateful hearts.

GO GREEN AND SAVE TREES” was the motto which was represented symbolically with a Tree badge presented to Rev.Fr. Thomas, Principal Christ Academy. Children wore a beautiful headgear emphasizing save trees.

Our little ones along with their teachers displayed their creativity by organising rally and making everyone aware about the importance of planting more trees. Students involved in creative activities like palm printing to emphasise the importance of the trees.

ART FOR EARTH POSTER MAKING

Students of middle school created captivating posters as a part of the art curriculum to spread awareness towards sustainability and taking little steps towards being more responsible towards our Earth's future.

REPORT ON FRANK ANTHONY DEBATE

The Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School Debate Competition held at Christ Academy ICSE School in Bengaluru was a highly anticipated event that brought together 13 schools for Stage 2 of Category 1, which comprised students from the 11th and 12th grades. The debate was conducted in the 2nd floor Seminar Hall of the Degree block at our campus.

The event kicked off with the registration process at 8:00am, ensuring that all participating schools were checked in and accounted for. Following the registration, a sumptuous breakfast spread and refreshments were provided, setting a pleasant tone for the day ahead. The official opening ceremony commenced promptly at 9:00am with a prayer and lighting of the lamp, setting the stage for the intellectual battle that was about to unfold. The students were then taken to the Central Library in the same building for their preparations from 9:30am to 10:30am

The judging panel for the competition consisted of esteemed individuals in the field of debate and communication: Mr. Senthil, Mr. Nagabhushan, and Mr. Rashikaran R. These individuals brought their expertise and discerning insights to evaluate the participants' arguments and presentation skills.

Guiding the proceedings as the moderator was Ms. Susan Varghese, a respected faculty member of Christ Academy Junior College, Department of English.

The debate itself proved to be a fierce and compelling showcase of the participants' eloquence, wit, and logical prowess. Each team brought their A-game to the stage, making the competition a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students and their schools.

In the end, it was Bombay Scottish School that emerged as the triumphant team. They not only clinched the title of Best Team but also secured the coveted Best Speaker award. The school's dominance was further highlighted as Anika Maria Joseph (Grade 11) secured the position of the Best Speaker and Aarav Bardhan (Grade 11) secured the first runner-up position, showcasing their individual speaking skills.

The second runner-up position was claimed by Pranav Bhalla of Vidyashilp Academy, who demonstrated exceptional talent and passion for debate.

The event concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks and prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were celebrated for their outstanding performances.

As the audience, we had the students of grade 9&10 of Christ Academy witnessing this prestigious event. The competition not only provided a platform for healthy competition but also fostered camaraderie and a spirit of learning among the participating schools

It was indeed a day of intellectual rigor, showcasing the potential of the next generation of debaters and public speakers.

TEACHERS DAY REPORT

A teacher’s life revolves, rotates and spins around the axis of its students. On September 5 th , students and teachers of Christ Academy celebrated the milestone of completing a year-long journey of orbiting, nurturing and developing young minds.Amidst a thunderous applause from the student fraternity, the teachers were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Sebi, Manager, Christ Academy and Rev. Fr. Thomas, Principal, Christ Academy.The MCs weaved a soulful narrative titled Gurudevo Bhava and displayed the power of oratory winning many hearts. The spirited song and danceperformances lit up the stage and kept the audience enthralled. A fitting tribute was paid to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan – a role model for the young generation to learn from.

SAP VISIT GRADE 9

Empowering Hope: Grade 9 Students' Social Awareness Program at School of Hope In a transformative endeavor, the students of Grade 9 organized a Social Awareness Program at the School of Hope, a haven of education for underprivileged children. This remarkable initiative aimed to engage and uplift the spirits of these children, who come from challenging backgrounds.

Our thoughtful students curated a day filled with games, dance, and interactive sessions to foster joy, learning, and friendship. The activities were carefully designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and self-expression, promoting a holistic approach to education beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Witnessing the resilience and determination of the children at the School of Hope was an emotional journey for our students. It was a profound eye-opener that sparked a renewed sense of gratitude and a deeper appreciation for the privileges they often take for granted. HINDI DIWAS REPORT

The vibrant and culturally rich atmosphere of our school came to life as we celebrated Hindi Diwas on September 11th to 14th, 2023. This annual event is a testament to our commitment to preserving and honouring the Hindi language and its cultural significance. The celebration spanned several days, with various activities and performances by our enthusiastic students.

Students from all grades engaged in thought-provoking discussions and eloquent speeches in Hindi which ignited a sense of pride in us towards our national language.

The heart of our Hindi Diwas celebration was the grand assembly held on September 14th. The assembly began with a soulful prayer song by our talented school choir, setting the tone for the day followed by an mesmerizing Prayer Dance performance, which left everyone in awe. The younger students of Grades 3 and 4 added a delightful touch with their Action Rhyme Song and Dance,

showcasing their enthusiasm for our cultural heritage. One of the highlights of the day was the impactful speeches delivered by students from Grade 8 and 9. They eloquently expressed the significance of Hindi Diwas and the importance of preserving our linguistic heritage.
